Fri 15 May 2026 — Phase 1 Day 5

Fri 15 May 2026 — Phase 1 Day 5

Today's headline goal

First three outreach emails go live. Phase 1 Week 1 closed cleanly.

Tasks

Task 1 — Send the three outreach emails (08:00 slot)

Stream: D — Partnerships
Time: 30 min
What: Send the three personalised emails to your audit-firm partner, regulated-sector lead, and AI vendor target. Block 08:00 in calendar; senior recipients open early-morning emails at 5–8× the rate of afternoon ones.
Why this matters: This is the first real-world test of your value proposition. Reply rate, tone of replies, and which segments respond shape next week's strategy.
Practical example: Send each email separately, one minute apart — never via mail-merge to senior contacts. Send with read-receipts off (creepy) but BCC yourself to confirm delivery. Update Outreach-Tracker with timestamps immediately.
Done when: Three emails sent; tracker updated; calendar blocked for 8 working days from now to send the single follow-up bump if needed.

Task 2 — Continue ICURe drafting (Sections 6–10)

Stream: C — Commercial Discovery
Time: 90 min
What: Sections 6 (Expected Outputs), 7 (Beyond Explore), 8 (Risks), 9 (Budget), 10 (Submission Checklist). Budget is the section assessors scrutinise — make sure costs add to £35k and align to eligible-cost categories.
Why this matters: Closing out the application this week means the weekend is for review and the application can submit cleanly Monday/Tuesday next week.
Practical example: For Section 9 budget, anchor to the table in the file 02 skeleton: stipend, travel, conference attendance, transcription, advisory honoraria, etc. Confirm each line is an eligible cost under the current ICURe rules (check icureprogramme.com).
Done when: Sections 6–10 drafted; whole document is at v0.9 ready for Mark's review over the weekend.

Task 3 — Send full ICURe v0.9 to Mark for weekend review

Stream: C — Commercial Discovery
Time: 15 min
What: Email Mark (cc Awais and Salem) with the full v0.9 ICURe draft. Ask for any blocking concerns by Monday EOD; minor edits can come later.
Why this matters: Supervisors are the second-most-important reviewers (after the funder's assessors). Their critique catches what you missed.
Practical example: "Mark — full ICURe Explore v0.9 attached. Plan to submit Tuesday/Wednesday. Could you flag anything blocking by Mon EOD? Minor edits I can pick up later. — Ali"
Done when: Email sent.

Task 4 — Weekly review (Phase 1 Week 1 close)

Stream: All
Time: 45 min
What: Use Weekly-Review-Template to retrospect Week 1. Update KPI-Dashboard. Capture surprises, blocked items, and what-to-do-better-next-week.
Why this matters: Without weekly review, you drift. The 45 minutes you invest now save 4 hours of mis-direction next week.
Practical example: KPI dashboard for Week 1: Outreach emails sent = 3, Replies = 0 (too early), First meetings = 0, ICURe drafted = 90% complete, TM clearance = done, Tech Transfer engaged = ✓ (or ✗ if meeting slipped).
Done when: Weekly review note saved in 01-Daily-Tasks/Weekly-Reviews/Week-01.md.

Task 5 — Update KPI-Dashboard and prep next week

Stream: All
Time: 15 min
What: Snapshot the weekly KPIs. Open Mon-2026-05-18 daily note and pre-load any items that carried forward from this week.
Why this matters: Cognitive offload. Friday-evening you sets up Monday-morning you for momentum.
Practical example: If Tech Transfer didn't reply this week, top of Monday's note: "Chase Tech Transfer if no reply by Mon noon." If supervisor approval is pending, top of Monday: "Confirm with Mark; do not send Big-4 outreach until confirmed."
Done when: Dashboard updated, Mon-2026-05-18 has clear opening tasks.
